Beautiful France

My favorite countries are France, United State of America, South Korea, Japan and England. I like those countries because some of them have interesting places. And I want to visit some special places there. First, I want to go to France. France is a beautiful country. I want to visit to some of the interesting places in France like Paris. Paris is a place for art-loving. There is “Musee d’Orsay” which is well-known for the residence and it has the impressionist painting collection. It is located in an old-train station. This big museum show thousand of art-painting and historical things in meddle ages.

And then,  I want to visit to “Louvre Museum”. Louvre museum is located in Louvre palace with the pyramid in front of it. The collection is more than one million objects. Louvre also offers some famous arts in the world. The object is like Leonardo da Vinci’s painting.

Luksemburg garden is also a biggest common place in Paris. I want to be there because, the visitors can have a picnic there or have walking around there. There are formal gardens and fruit garden that show many artistic statues and a fountain.

The next popular place in Paris is “arc de triomphe” which is built 1806 for memorizing the victory of Napoleon Bonaparte. And it has relief that imagine the terrific war.

And the last place is “Eiffel Tower” . I don’t want to miss to visit this place. This is the most interesting place has beautiful lights in the night, and it became a romantic place in the night for the couples.

We Celebrated Kartini's Day

April 21, 2014 we celebrate what has been known as “Kartini’s Day.” Kartini’s Day is an Indonesian holiday commemorating the birth in 1879 of Raden Ajeng Kartini, one of the country's national heroes and a pioneer in the emancipation of Indonesian women. Throughout Indonesia women wear their national dress to symbolize their unity, and the nation enjoys parades, lectures, and various school activities.
Lady Kartini, the daughter of a Javanese nobleman who worked for the Dutch colonial administration, was exposed to Western ideas when she attended a Dutch school. When she had to withdraw from school because she was of noble birth, she corresponded with Dutch friends telling of her concern both for the plight of Indonesians under colonial rule and for the restricted lives of Indonesian women. She married in 1903 and began a fight for the right of women to be educated and against the unwritten but all-pervading Javanese law.

On September 17, 1904, at the age of 25, Kartini died in the regency of Rembang, Java, of complications from giving birth to her first child. Seven years after her death, one of her correspondents, Jacques H. Abendanon, published a collection of Kartini's letters, entitled "From Darkness to Light: Thoughts About and on Behalf of the Javanese People." In Indonesia, Kartini Day is still celebrated annually on Kartini's birthday.

In the celebration of Kartini’s day there were some performance from some people to sing ‘Ibu Kita Kartini’ song that was accompanied by an ensemble from some of the secondary student. Before the performance there was a short movie about Ibu Kartini. There was also a short drama from primary student about the letters that Ibu Kartini wrote to her friends. Next was the Indonesian fashion show from different province around Indonesia. The last part for the Ibu Kartini celebration was a fun dance.

Anyway, her story and the celebration have inspired me to write something about empowering women. In many places, education is special privilege for boys. Including in my country, my culture (my old and current culture) and my people. Education is prioritized only for men. Many people think, “it’s useless for women to be educated, in the end they will just be mother, housewife. Whose occupation is caring for her family, managing household affairs, and doing housework. So, they don’t need to be educated.” And also, my birthday have same date and month with birthday’s Kartini.

Why the People Choose Abstain for Election ???

Abstention is a word which is used in several different legal senses. This word means “to refrain” as for example when someone might claim to be abstaining from alcohol, meaning that this person is not drinking alcohol. In a legal sense, abstention can involve with holding a vote, refraining from a particular activity, or refusing to have an opinion on a legal matter. Many governments have procedures in place to allow people to formally abstain.
In elections, people may choose to abstain from voting because they do not like the choices or they wish to challenge the validity of the election. Staying at home on election day is a form of abstention but people who would like to formally record their protest can choose to go to the polls and cast a blank ballot. Also known as a blank vote or white ballot, the ballot is considered spoiled by the elections personnel, but will be counted along with other ballots. People may refer to this type of abstention as “making a protest vote”.
It is generally recognized that people should be allowed to chose abstention as an option, rather than being compelled to vote for or against something to vote from a group of choices which they feel are all poor. Abstention is also an important mechanism for allowing people who have conflict of interest or biases to excuse themselves from a vote.
However, sadly, a lot of people in this country don’t vote. So not everyone who stays home on election day is waging some kind of political protest. Some of them are just lazy, or don’t care. Of course, these non-voters are usually the ones that complain the loudest when the elected officials mess up later.

April Fools' Day

Do you have ever heard the word "April Mop"? Do you ever try it before ? April Mop relates with some jokes and hoaxes . Jokes are something spoken, written, or done with humorous. in this time, I'd like to explain what April Mop is and also explaining how many countries that have the rules about April Mop.

Aril Fools' Day is celebrated on 1 April in every year. Generally, we call it as April Mop. 1 April is not a national holiday, but it is widely recognizes and celebrates in various countries as a day when all the people play pratical some jokes and hoaxes with each other called as April Mop. we could play some jokes with our friends, family and also our enemies. These things will make people ashame because of our tricks.

There are some countries that have the rules which give jokes and hoaxes restriction until mid day. Such as, England, Austria, and South Africa. But, there are many states that allowed to do jokes and pranks all day. It's like Canada, French, Italy, Russia, Dutch and USA. But in Indonesia, some people do not know about it and how to celebrate April Fools' Day.

Do you know why there aren't many people in Indonesia who celebrate it? Because the customs that make to commemorate the April Fool's Day, is not appropriate with Indonesian people behavior who have appreciate the values of honesty, the people let alone to lie making the people feel humiliated in public or even to harm others is not commendable attitude. However, that's why Indonesian people don't celebrated April Mop Day.

What Hapenned Adam Air Flight ???

On 1 January 2007, at 12:55 local time (05:55 UTC), the plane departed from Juanda Airport, Surabaya, with 96 passengers (85 adults, 7 children and 4 infants) and 6 crew on board. The passenger list was composed mainly of Indonesian nationals; the only foreigners were an American family of three. The two-hour flight, scheduled to arrive at Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado, at 16:00 local time, was as expected until the plane disappeared from air traffic control radar screens at Makassar, South Sulawesi, with the last contact at 14:53 local time (06:53 UTC). The last known beacon position was detected by a Singaporean satellite. The altitude of the plane was shown as 35,000 feet (10,670 m) on the radar screen.

Weather in the region was stormy; the Indonesian Bureau of Meteorology and Geophysics noted that the cloud thickness was up to 30,000 feet (9,140 m) in height and wind speed at an average of 30 knots (56 km/h) in the area. Although the Juanda Airport operator, PT Angkasa Pura I, had given warnings to the pilot concerning the weather condition, the plane had departed as scheduled. The plane ran into crosswinds of more than 70 knots (130 km/h) over the Makassar Strait, west of Sulawesi, where it changed course eastward toward land before losing contact. In his last radio transmission, the pilot reported the crosswinds to be coming from the left, but air traffic control claimed that the winds should be coming from the right.
Contrary to early reports, no calls for help were sent by the aircraft
