Jasminum Sumbac Flower

Do you ever see the flower like this picture beside? This flower is often we see around. The name of this flower is Jasminum sumbac. Jasminum sumbac is a small white flower with sweet fragrance, has long been considered as a sacred flower in Indonesia tradition, as it symbolizes purity, sacredness, graceful simplicity and sincerity. The jasmine has wide spectrums in Indonesia traditions, it is the flower of live, beauty and festive wedding, yet it is also often associated with spirit and death.

Jasminum Sumbac is the national flower of Indonesia. Indonesian people called it as Melati Putih. Melati putih is the most important flower in wedding ceremonies for ethnic Indonesians, especially in the island of Java. On wedding days, a traditional Javanese or Sundanese bride’s hair is adorned with strings of jasmine garlands arranged as a hair met to cover the hair bun (konde).That's all my explanation about Melati Putih flower.
